Why is the movie "Seven Pounds" titled that way?

I just recently saw the movie "Seven Pounds".
I understand why the word 'seven' is in the title- he kills seven people then saves seven.

But why is the word 'pounds' in the title??
HELP!

he donated seven pounds of flesh for his sins of killing seven people which is like a weight he was carrying with him all the time.
