If I want to quit smoking can I be around people who smoke?

I think I can handle the temptation, but is it possible to quit while constantly around others who smoke? Would the second hand smoke keep the nicotine in my system?

It wouldn’t be wise to hang around friends who smoke or even travel routes that you used to smoke on, because the situation will increase the temptation more than you can imagine. The same advice is given to recovering heroine addicts; they are advised to travel different routes and hang out with clean friends as to avoid relapsing. But it is quite possible to quit in the company of smokers, I did it.
